**** The Life of David Gale (2003) Laura Linney and Kevin Spacey in a movie about suicide and capital punishment. How ironic.
**** Sylvia (2004) Sylvia Plath alone gives me heartburn - much less Gwyneth Coldplay Paltrow playing her.
**** Sex and Lucia (2004) Starts out slow but only gets better. Close to great by the end.
**** The Ballad of Jack and Rose (2005) I'll get behind anything starring Daniel Day-Lewis, even throwaway fare like this. Camilla Belle is also the perfect Lolita.
**** Mysterious Skin (2005) Disappointing - owes far too much to My Own Private Idaho, but Joseph Gordon-Levitt puts in a wonderful, post-"3rd Rock from the Sun" performance.
